§ COMPANY — ABOUT
Boring infrastructure for extraordinary money.
AETHER is the financial infrastructure layer we wish had existed when we were building inside regulated institutions. Quiet, dependable, auditable. Built by people who have run real money systems.
Why we exist
The plumbing of global finance is older than most of the people who maintain it. SWIFT messages are not transactions. Nostro accounts are not liquidity. Batch reconciliation is not settlement. The cost of this gap — measured in capital, errors, fraud and latency — is paid by every regulated institution and ultimately by their customers.
AETHER is a single, consistent infrastructure layer that replaces those gaps with one operating model: continuously settled, fully attested, programmable end to end. We are building it with banks, not at them.
How we work
- Bank-first. Every design decision is reviewed against the working assumptions of a Tier-1 risk function. Speed never beats correctness.
- Compliance as code. Regulatory rules are first-class artefacts in the system. They are versioned, tested and signed off, not bolted on.
- Open by default. Specifications, SDK source and reference implementations are public. Lock-in is the wrong moat.
- Quiet engineering. Our roadmap is set with customers, not with marketing cycles. We ship when it is ready.
Who builds AETHER
A small, senior team distributed across 14 time zones. Backgrounds in central bank market infrastructure, custodian engineering, payments operations, applied cryptography and high-assurance systems.
- Headquarters
- Distributed by design. Legal entities in the EU, the UK, Singapore and the United States.
- Regulatory posture
- Engagement with regulators is the first step of every market entry, not the last. We do not enter a market until we have a path.
- Investors
- Strategic backers from incumbent financial institutions and patient capital partners. We optimise for long-term alignment, not exit velocity.
- Contact
- Partnerships, press and procurement enquiries are routed through the contact form on the home page.
